Season 2, Episode 1 Preview - Likeminded Podcast
It’s great to bring back Likeminded Podcast again and keeping the arts scene connected by shinning light on our ever-growing arts scene here in Liverpool. We have had a wide range of guests join us on the podcast from Set Designers to Directors - there is something for everyone. We’ve had fantastic feedback since we launched the podcast back in September. The support has been breathtaking and we can’t thank you all enough. Our hosts; Bob and Caitlin have brought this podcast to life and truly made it their own. I couldn’t have asked for a better team.
This season of the podcast is going to be great. The team have great guests lined up and what better way to kickstart Episode 1 than Mikee Dickinson, Adam Nichols and Catherine Ainsworth from Naughty Corner Productions. We were very excited to have these creatives join us to talk all things theatre, future plans and what they’ve been up to behind the scenes.
Naughty Corner - for me, is the most recognised production company within the Liverpool theatre scene hands down. Like Margaret Connell (Lantern Theatre), I knew about Mikee and the team well before we put on our first ever show, The man with no identity. I knew all about; Not the Horse, Church Blitz and Bob The Russian. I haven’t been to any of their shows because you literally can’t get a ticket. The great thing about Naughty Corner shows, you hear people talk about it so much and their presence on Facebook is that big it’s like you did go if that makes sense. For me, their promotion and overall branding is spot on.
Mikee and the team have established their core audience and there’s very few production companies - including ourselves, that haven’t quite mastered yet. The overall family unit they have built with their company is brilliant to see and we try and do this with every production we have done to date. Everyone we have spoken to including the lads from Script Suppliers, speak highly of Naughty Corner (Episode 5). They have collaborated with a lot of artists in Liverpool and hold a lot of experience within their field which I can’t wait to sit down and pick their brain over a pint at the Arts Bar.
Anyway, listening to this episode gave an insightful look into what goes on behind the scenes at Naughty Corner and the process they go through when they are creating a show. It was great to hear that they’ve already planned a few productions once these restrictions are lifted and life gets back to ‘normal’. Like they say, '“Once the world’s back to normal, we’re going to smash it!” Hearing their plans for the future and with their new partnership with Trisha and John Duffy, they will escalate their brand and presence even further. I’m looking forward to finally going to a show of theirs very soon. Thanks to Mikee, Adam and Catherine for a brilliant first episode of season two. The episode will be available this Sunday on all major platforms.
